Default Bad reception?

Hey guys. I just picked up an '11 EG Classic. The radio doesn't pick up stations for crap!. I get 1 station in my driveway, and going down the road, my favorite station is picked up very spotty. I have no problem at all getting a bunch of stations in my truck on the same roads, so what gives? Is it the radio, or is the stock antenna garbage?

The bike is completely stock, the antenna is mounted to the tour pack, and as far as i know, there is no amp.

Look under the tourpak liner there is a connection for 1) the ground plane for the antenna and 2) the actual antenna wire has a connection there. That may come loose or apart.

If the above turns out fine, then you either have a bad antenna wire (broken somewhere) or the connection going into the back of the radio is bad. I've seen guys pull the end right off that antenna wire trying to get it out of the back of the radio as it fits tight.
