Default Rockford Fosgate PBR amps...good or bad buy?

Does anyone have info or advice on the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 or PBR300X4 ?? I have a Street Glide and only need to power 2 batwing Hertz HCX 165's. Wondering if the RF brand is good and should I go with the 2 or 4 way?

The 2 channel is rated minimum 100 watts rms per channel, the 4 channel amp is only 75 watts per channel. In addition the 4 channel amp will get much hotter trying to dissipate heat in almost the same surface area as a 2 channel amp. You are better off buying two 2 channel amps to run 4 speakers than trying to squeeze all that energy out of one 4 channel amp.

I have the 2 channel powering a set of Polk mm651's and it ROCKS. Check out the audio section. Lots if info and advice on these amps.

Lots of info on the 4 channels being crap. 2 channels are pretty good. Hot setup right now seems to be soundstream nano.

You're only using two channels and you can't bridge the PBR300x4.

My 300x2 came with a bench rating of 193 watts per channel RMS into 2 ohms. Tough to beat that, and it won't make your FM stations go away!

Thanks everyone.
Sounds like good solid feedback on the RF PBR300X2....Never heard of the Soundstream Tarantula amps. But I do know RF has a pretty good name out there in the audio world.

RF PBR300x2 and Polk MM651's here also. No complaints. So much better than stock.
