Right now I have a Sony receiver ss4520 jl c3 6.5 want it to be louder go figure right. I'm wanting to pull the trigger on either the bag lids or lowers with 6.5 trying to find out which will give me the best sound. Oh btw it an 11 street glide
I first did the lowers with a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 amp and 4 T165 speakers. The system had some great sound. But now having the SoundStream 4.520D with 4 Polk DXi650 (2 in the fairing and 2 lowers) along with Polk DXi690 I the bag lids. I wish I had done the bag lids long ago. When I'm flying down the highway it's like riding in a convertible car. I can hear the stereo separation and I can hear music all around me.
88. I would do the lowers first 4 speakers "in your face" is better IMO. You can always do the lids later lol.
Agreed. Your body is designed to hear the greatest range of input from in front. That's not to say surround sound isn't good but it's my opinion that you'll have better bang for your buck by doing that first.
lids are just like the rear pods.. you can hear them GREAT when you're sitting still and at lower speeds but above 50 they become nothing more than fill sound, but you can certainly hear them so IMO they are not a wasted expense. In your face is where you want the major part of your audio coming from, fairing and lowers and you want some power behind them.
