Troop. I know your quandary well. If you want me to, I could check my local shop, and see what they would sell the c2-600's for. I bought two sets of the 650's and they lowered the price from 199 to 145 a pair. On just one set they were going to sell them to me for 165 I think. I guess by the time we figured freight and what not, it would be 6 one way and a half dozen the other. I heard everything under the sun, and I really liked the Infinities, JL's and polks the best. The kicker speakers always had a certain amount of intrigue as well, but I just never felt like they delivered the same quality of sound as my top three. And on the bass side, they weren't noticeably more powerful for me either. My local shop guy asked what I was going to push the speakers with, and wanted to sell me an amp too. I let him know real fast that the SS P4.520N had quickly developed a solid reputation on our forum, so there wasn't a chance to upsell me on an amp.

Nice, thanks Sean. I may just go back with $160 cash in hand. This would be about $145 + tax. I might also call Sonic Electronix as I've had good luck with them. I have emails in to some on-line retailers for warranty info as well. We shall see....

Just pulled the trigger on some JL C2-600x's.. Now to get around and put them in. Once I get the speakers, I'll template out the grill/speaker locations on the lids and then thinking of using a 5" plastic hole saw for the cut. Still have time to ponder the 'how to" of it .

I used a power zip brand I think rotary saw... And it cut those lids like butter. Took me longer to clean up than it did to cut the holes.

I was talking to an audio buddy and he advised me against the hole saw. He also suggested a Rotozip, and my wife has one

Hey Sean,
Two questions:
1.) Are the new speakers holding up ok in the lids?
2.) How is your FM reception with the amp?
Now I'm also thinking of going a 4 channel amp route. The SS sounds very inviting but I'm a bit leary of the FM issue? I may try the SS PN4.320D route. Thinking 60wx4 will drive these speakers nicely?

Hey Troop,

I responded to the post you put on my page. Sorry for the how long it took me to get back to you. Work, and kids have been keeping me pretty busy.
