Default Amp setup - UltraNutZ or Blockzilla??

Hi all,

I will be installing RF pbr300x2 later this week, in a '08 streetglide with the stock radio. (infinity 6022i speakers, if it matters).

In reading the set-up procedures here on the forums, it seems like there are two very different procedures. Or, I'm looking at two different things...

I see UltraNutZ sticky with the recorded test tone and the voltage...
And blockzilla has a post about % volume and listening for distortion, here:
(post 12, I think)

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/tourin...-please-2.html

Are these procedures for two different things? Is one more effective?
Thanks!!

In reading them again, I think they both do the same thing, just in a different way..?

Hopefully, I won't blow anything up...

you are correct sir and my posting is a "technical" posting. However, there are things in his post that I would not follow.

Here's the low down;
1.) get your amp installed and ready to go and the filter set to FP (full pass)
2.) get your speakers installed and wrap them with polyfil to look like a cocoon.
3.) turn your bass and treble to flat on your stock radio (middle is flat not all the way to left) This is critical to have these settings FLAT
4.) turn your gains on the amp all the way down (normally to the left)
5.) drop in a CD ( you can't do this with FM signal) and turn the volume up on the radio until you hear distortion from the speakers then back the volume down a hair.
6.) now turn your gains on your amp up until you start to hear distortion from the speakers again, and then back it down a hair.

Now you're set.

Full Pass?? Just checking, as I thought everyone kept saying to have it on High Pass when adjusting...

Mine has: LP-AP-HP

Thanks!

Sorry forgot the RF amps are called AP.

If you set to high pass, you lose all the bottom end (bass) of your speakers. Set it to AP.
