Default Marine Grade Speakers?

I'm looking to replace my J&M 7.25 speaker with something else... Polk was what I had in mind as they have a good rep, but unfortunately their UM models don't play well with the batwing. I ride in the rain, I wash my bike (irregularly), and I do not want to worry about natures wet elements.

What marine grade speakers would you suggest to compliment a PBRX4 amp?

I know some of you don't have good opinions about that amp, you're entitled to it, but that's not the reason for this post. I did the research on Polk Audio, but looking for other opinions/options... Eventually I will replace the stock deck, but I need to buy a house first .

Thanks for the input...
Rick

That amp requires 4 ohm speakers, so if you like Polks these would do nicely. Marine certified and priced right! http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-6-5.../dp/B000P0PF9G

Rick, all of the Polk speakers are marine-certified, DXI, DB, and MM series. As FPB stated above, you MUST use 4 ohm speakers with that PBR300x4 so go with his recommendation above.

Ya know, I thought I read that on a couple other threads, but when I went to the website it had a marine grade section. I couldn't locate anything that said they were all marine certified; my wife says I am blind though LOL. Now I need to find that thread that said which ones went where; batwing and pods.

Anyone have any experience with the Kicker speakers? A buddy of mine just got a set for his Victory and I gotta say the speakers sounded really good. I haven't heard the Polks yet, but many have stated they are definitely the cats meow

Thanks for inputs
Rick

for that PBR300x4 you'll have to stick wtih 4 ohms speakers in which case it would be the Polk DB651 speakers front and rear.

I don't have any experience with the Kickers other than the 2 pair I have in my truck which sound pretty good. if you like the kickers though, you'll love the Polks.

Polk mm651.. All Polk speakers are marine certified.

What I'm seeing though is the grills for the polks do not fit with the lowers because of the way the speaker hole is recessed. However there are lots of folks here that have used other grills besides polks.

Thanks - That will work perfect....I just canceled my Infinity order and ordered the polk mm651. I also have the HD grills so this should look pretty good. Have you heard that they will or will not work with the grills?
