Default J&M Rokkers for my 2012 Ultra Limited

Folks,

Been doing tons of research on here trying to decide what direction to go with a speaker upgrade. I'm not wanting to go nuts, just upgrading my front speakers from stock at this point. All said, I am looking at buying a pair of the J&M Rokker 7.25 speakers for the batwing - no amp or anything else at this time. I think the part number is HCRK-7252GTM-XTC. A few questions:

1). Has anyone just replaced their stock speakers with these and added nothing else? If so, what do you think about the outcome?

2). If there truly is a better set of speakers out there, with a better sound, what would you recommend?

3). Dr. VTwin seemed to be a contact on here that offerred some price breaks to forum members, but his website links appear to be broken. Did he go out of business possibly?

Again, I just want an improvement in sound quality over stock without getting too carried away - need a little more punch when I'm at highway speeds.

Thanks in advance for any help....

dforeid I too am interested in this upgrade. I have researched this to nauseating extents and its clear that the J&M Rokker speakers are a great upgrade.
Worth noting though, is that many people say that to get the most out of the Rokkers you need the 250W amp as well.
I have also been looking at the HAWG WIRED speakers (SX504-60) and amp (DCS1202), they too come with great reviews. Note: the HW speakers are 4 Ohm and your stock HK head unit is 2 Ohm output, so unless you want the HW amp - the J&M Rokkers are 2 Ohm and will match the output of the stock HK head unit without the J&M amp.
Good Luck!

Hey CGP93,

Thanks for the tip. Tried to find that sticky to no avail.... do you know what forum it was in? I did an advanced search on it and got no hits...

Thanks again for your time....

unfortunately, Obamanomics took it's toll on Dr VTwin, they are no longer in business.

dforeid ,,,,,,,

if you may add an amp at a later time go with these http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....RK-7252GTM-XTC ,,,,,,,

if you do NOT plan to add an amp at a later time ,,, these are the most efficient speakers you can buy to run off the stock Harley HK radio http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....D=HCSK-7252GTM ,,,,,,,

when you are ready to order, send an email to me and I will reply with a discount promo code ,,,,,,,,

we very much appreciate your business ,,,,,,
