Default 2010 radio on a 200 bike

Hello all;

My bike: 2000 electra Glide classic. Bought a radio/cd from 2010 street glide. Is this plug and play or what do I need to do to make it work WITH factory handlebar controls?

Thanks

Plug and play.
All will be good with the exception of the AVC.
If you want that to work, the radio will need to be reprogrammed.

AVC is an automatic speed based volume control.
The 2000 bikes use an analog signal, the HK radios are defaulted to a digital input. If you want it to work, the radio would need to be reprogrammed to accept the analog input.

I wasn't being clear. My apologies. HOW would it be reprogrammed?

Dealer should be able to do it, but it would need to be installed on an 06 or newer bike.
We can do it without the bike

Read the previous posts...the 2000 is fine, avc will not work unless radio is reprogrammed...radio will not be able to be reprogrammed while installed on the 2000

AVC is not a neccisity. all it simply does is turns the volume of the radio up and down based on your speed. It's Automatic Volume Control and the same thing you find in most newer model cars. Put the radio in and be done with it. :-)

Thanks,
Well, for some reason I was not understanding the 2000 point.
The radio isn't on yet, so I guess I was trying to ask if I should get it done before I install it, or if there was any point, since it was going on a 2000. I guess I wasn't being clear enough, or understanding clearly. Oh well.

I think I will just have it put on and go from there. Next, and Ipod mount and a cord that's compatible with the radio, and I'm pretty much good in the tune department...
