Bagger Nation “House Party” 300 System
Was looking at getting the The Bagger Nation “House Party” 300 System, it's a little expensive, and seems like there are several things I could get cheaper, but I'm not sure I wanna part all of it out, and just get it. Any advice would be appreciated.
It's pretty much between this, and a similar system from J and M. I have a 2012 FLHX with a stock system...

Well what is more important to you? How it sounds in the parking lot, or how it sounds on the road? The 6x9s in the lids you will almost not hear on the highway. I would put most of my money into a better head unit with ipod controls and the best speaker you can buy for the fairing.
I think you can do better on your own by putting the pieces of the puzzle together and forgo their "kit".

I agree. However the route I'd take is;
1. pick up the fosgate PBR300x2 - $189
2. pick up a set of Polk MM651 6.5" speakers for the fairing - $179
3. pick up a set of speaker adapters to go from the stock 5.25" to 6.5" fairing mount
I think you'll be quite pleased with what you hear. Then from there you can always add onto your system instead of trying to kill a knat with a cannonball. :-)
if you wanted to upgrade your headunit - Sony DSX-S310BTX - $179
biketronics retro kit for handlebar controls - $219 (might be able to find this cheaper elsewhere)
with that you're in a nice system for well under $800 and you've now got expandability options and a lot more features.

I keep reading in different posts that you "will not hear the saddlebag speakers on the highway". Not true. I have a 4 speaker set up with a 500 watt four channel amp. I have put the fade all the way to the saddle bag speakers with no sound coming from the front at all. I can hear the stereo as clear as day. In my opinion, the saddle bag speakers provide a nice complement to the front speakers.
