Default Boom Audio Cruiser Amp and Speaker Kit Draining Battery

I have the subject system installed on my Dyna. I think I'm having a problem with it draining the system even with the key off. One wire is hooked into a power source that is unswitched, one to ground and the other is hooked into the headlight power for switching on with key. I think it's draining my battery even when the ignition is off. I have read a couple of threads that talk about a HD Service Bulletin that says a relay needs to be installed, but I after searching the forums and the web I can't find the bulletin. Anyone know where I can find the bulletin so I can find out what parts I need to get to fix this problem?

Thanks.

you shouldn't need to install a relay but if you'd like to here is the wiring diagram for it. This is assuming you'll leave the lead connected to the headlight power wire which is switched.

got to autozone or simliar, pick up a bosch 4 pole relay and should have pins labeled 30,85,86,and 87.

30 goes to battery +12v and make sure it's fused properly for the amp.
85 goes directly to a good solid ground
86 goes to a switched +12v lead
87 goes to the amp battery wire.

if you install the relay under the seat everything you need is right there.
tie 30 to the battery + and fuse it
tie 85 to the battery -
tie 86 to the switched wire in the harley harness located just in front of the battery
tie 87 to you r amp + wire

Or you could put a switch in the line comming from the battery, and turn on or off as needed.

Default Boom audio speakers and amp

I just had the boom audio and speakers installed on my Deluxe at the local dealer. the addition of a relay is absolutely necessary. without it, you will drain your battery.
