Default new radio not working

Installed new radio this weekend. Old radio worked fine but had caSette player, needed upgrade. Connected wiring tested ok. Installed fully and radio does not work. Exchanged head unit at store, brought home and same thing happened. Batt has 12.4 v dead and 13.2 running getting near 11v at radio. When accessory sw is turned in I see a faint imprint of clock barely visible. No buttons work. My next step will be taking 12 v pwr and memory and ground wire and resplicing them. Then hunting for a short. Any other ideas???????????Previous radio worked perfect....

this sounds like a bad ground to me. you don't specify if this an aftermarket radio but I assume so.

Make sure your ground is connected to the inner fairing bracket and tight.

Thanks that is my next step. Ground on bike is good , But I'm questionable on the new harness connections, I will be redoing 12v pwr ,memory and grd wire. Since there were no problems with old radio, just upgrading. And yes it is aftermarket. ---Its a PYLE marine grade system.
