Default Really disapointed in my HDHU.9813RG

So I received my HDHU.9813RG stereo this weekend. Install was very easy. Took it out later that day, very disappointed in the volume output. Called Vol. Audio where I ordered it, they tell me that it has the same output as a factory unit, which I had no problem hearing. Suggested I add an amp. Which I did order off ebay last night. Was really hoping that the unit would be powerful enough without the amp.....

Anyone else have this issue?

25watts rms/50 watts peak per channel. Not gonna hear that output well at any normal cruising speed. You really need at least 100w per channel.

Did you also upgrade you speakers? Stock speakers wont handle much power either. So if you were looking for more volume, you really need to do a whole system. Radio, speakers, and amp.

I did upgrade them to some 6.5" Kenwood's. I ordered a 100x4 amp. I guess I was expecting more for the 800 bucks. I installed a killer system in my old Ultra, I'll do it again.

If you went from 2 ohm factory speaks to 6.5 4 ohm speakers, that would explain why your volume output is decreased.

I am also a bit disappointed in the Rockford Fosgate HDHU.9813RG, but at least I got mine for only $300.

I hadn't planned on adding an amp either, but that may be on the list some day.
As it is now, I almost never even turn the radio on.
It's not loud enough to hear over the exhaust and the modular helmet anyway, so I just stream to the Cardo.

I'd really like to be able to use the radio as the source for the BT speakers in the helmet, but that doesn't seem to be possible.

Before I traded my '12 UL, I had installed the 9813 along with all four speakers, (also RF). I was actually pretty in=mpressed, thought it sounded better than the boom system on my '17.

I only run the fronts right now. I have ordered the a saddlebag speaker kit, it come in later this week. I rarely run my tourpak, so maybe the 4 will make a difference. For sure the 100x4 amp will take care of my volume issues.

If people read the post then they would know he has changed head units and this has nothing to do with the factory 2 ohm head unit dumb ***
