GTS update fail ??
I just installed the latest update for the GTS radio. I hit the install now. After about10 seconds, the screen went dark. Its been that way for 20 minutes already.
I'm beginning to think it just froze up.
Well, it's now been an hour. Turned it off, waited, turned back on and error message; something about not the right info on the jump drive. On the bottom, there was a re-try icon. I just turned the switch off and went to get another jump drive. The screen stayed on after turning the switch off ! Went back into the house to get a different jump drive. When I got back the screen was dark again. Turned on the switch,.... NO RADIO screen ! NOW WHAT ??

You're unpacking it too far... Your second picture, when you see it like that, "swdl_boombox_GTS_DOM.iso", copy that file to the flash drive.... that is the "image file" you want and it is in the proper format... do not "unpack" it any further (like in your last picture), just copy that file in that state to the flash drive.
To see the flash drives format style (file system), right click on it in My Computer like in your first picture, right click on Sandisk (E), then pick "properties".
To format it, right click on Sandisk (E), then pick "format", then on the dialog box that kicks up under "file system" pick FAT32 (shouldn't need to change any other setting), then click "start" to format the drive and let it do its thing, after that then copy the "swdl_boombox_GTS_DOM.iso" file on to the usb stick.
This is my flash drive that I have used on 3 bikes so far to update the software (but this is on a Mac using Parallels, cause my Windows machine isn't running right now, but the drive was formatted on the windows machine)

OP - SSitruc just gave you some great instructions with pictures - he is exactly right.
Take your flash drive to the bike. Turn the bike to ACC - let it boot up as much as it can and then simply plug in that flash drive. Just let it run and it will reset everything for you.
FYI, I carry the latest update in my tour pack just in case I or someone else needs it.
