Default 2014 FLHTCU Stereo upgrade

First time harley owner, long time rider of Jap bikes. The bike is a 2014 FLHTCU, with the 4.3 stereo. I believe the bike has the 100 watt factory amplifier in it. Going to be picking it up on Friday. I'm interested in upgrading the system minus the head unit. My budget is $800, what is yalls recommendations? The bike has the two speakers in the batwing & two speakers on the tourpack. I intend on removing the tourpack and keeping it for longer trips but not for around town. It does have the lower fairings, I've seen they have adapters to put 6.5" speakers in them.

With a Budget of only $800.00 is doesn't give you much wiggle room at all. For that Price you could do DS18s 6.5 in the Fairings, Lowers, and Tourpack with two DS18 Amps maybe right at $800 if your doing it yourself.

What would be a more appropriate "budget" best bang for your buck price range? I was considering kicker 6.5's. And getting some of that hydrophobic cloth to protect the speakers. Also saw NVX has a decent 400W RMS 4 channel micro marine amplifier too.

edit: spelling

I run the Stinger SPX700 amp and MMATS PA601CX's in the fairing in my 2014. Sounds great, very short money as well. Under your budget.

I whole-heartedly agree to the above setup with a few more parts. A pair of line levelers and a wiring harness thats plug and play.
and lastly, without a doubt, find a GTS for about $800-$1000. This will open up other options, increase your bike value and allow for WHIM, SIRIUS, & Touchscreen ease.
I can out crank most others with only 1/2 volume!!!

Did you need to run a line leveler with this amp? If so, which one did you use?
