"I have my MECP in installation and theory But they have expired due to change of careers I was a installer back in the 90;s It was one of the best jobs I had. Things change got married had kids. But my passion never left me Theres nothing like a customer with a big smile on his face after he heres what i created for them. Now im 61 years old. And guess I got bitten again. I met Carlos early last year I was so impressed with his knowledge. He has taught me many things outside of just reading books.
I visit his shop as often as I can. He always welcomes me.We just seemed to click. He is so passionate about audio. And shares it with everyone.Since I dont have time to go back to school. He is going to start workshops soon. I be attending those when they start.I cant say enough about Carlos. He is a master at what he does and has the credentials to prove it."
Alot has changed since the 90's as you can attest to. Thank you for that clarification also. Carlos is a very knowledgeable person, and he got that way by trial and error. The major manufacturers know his following and they send him things to review. He will not make a vid of items that are sub-standard as it is a waste of his time and there is no money in it. I will admit that he has a passion for motorcycle audio but also remember that he runs a business and has to look out for himself and his employees. Again, thank you for this clarification as I stand corrected.

Not taking anything away from Carlos, he has learned a lot along the way. One of his biggest achievements (in the business sense) is creating content and a following on YouTube. He found what is comparatively speaking, a niche market and engaged in it. There are lots of knowledgeable guys and shops out there when it comes to bike audio. There are lots of guys that have mastered the art of bike audio. Some are great at the work and some are great at the details. Some are great at marketing. Carlos has managed to market his business into a well known "authority" on the subject.
I follow several furniture builders on YouTube. One builds high end custom tables and desks. I'm talking big money stuff, like 10-30grand for some pieces. He has found his market niche and creates a lot of content around it. He has admittedly said, he now makes more money from content than the actual product. Don't get me wrong, I don't fault the guy for marketing well. I just question, at what point does content become more important than the craft. A good business person lets the profitable areas prevail.
All that to say....what Carlos does best is market and content.

I was going to keep my mouth shut, but not going to do it. Certifications from companies mean you have passed what THEY deem neccessary. Does not mean if you don't have one you don't know what you are doing. Nor does it mean you know what you are doing even if you have a certification. I've also discovered in my life that people preach and sell what has the higher profit margin. Golly gee, wonder what the profit margin is between a LOC and a DSP....... Obviously I'd rather sell the high dollar items and make more, but there are people who will also realize there are other solutions that work well and will offer choices. THAT is what I call service. Lot of different ways to do things, and people need to understand that.

Adding a DSP to a 2 or 4 speaker setup is an easy $200-300 profit that take very little time to complete.
Is a DSP required for a coax setup? No.
Does it help? Of course it does.
Does the customer want to drop another $300-$500 to ad a DSP to a coax setup? That’s up to them.
