Haha The OP stated he was not an audio expert so I can see him over powering the mmats and cutting their life short. For example the beginning of Michael Jackson's beat it is a dirty bass (recorded that way) and can blow a set of mmats. Trust me I know.

I will be also be putting speakers in the tour pack.
What do you guys recommend for speakers in the TP?

And if running the stinger amp, would that handle 4 speakers with good power?

Thanks

I used Hertz SX Neo's in the TP...the neos are 96.5db so they get even louder than the mmats with the same amount of power, which is definitely useful with them being in the TP. Yes, the Stinger will send 125w to each speaker. The SounDigital 800.4 will send 132w.

I'm selling all this gear if you're interested...send me a PM.

I put them in my fairing running off of the stock head unit. They are MUCH louder and more clear than stock, but they don't have much low end. That being said, they are simply a 6.5 inch speaker, if you want low end you likely need bigger speakers and an amp.

? Not sure where this information came from (what speakers are you taking about, what bike/year etc).

Never understood changing out stock speakers with spl speakers and then running them off the stock amp 🤦🏻 - the gain will be nominal at best, and the risk of blowing the speaker with distortion increases significantly.

The stinger will have enough power for 4 speakers. You will need adapters for the TP also as they are 5.25 stock. V-twin make an adapter. Fastsoup was right about the sx neos dropping right in but that is on a 2014 up bike. Your 2008 wont fit a 6.5 without adapters. I also would run the stinger over the SD800.4 for a clean warmer sound. Remember that the TP speakers will be in direct flow of the weather so choose a weather resistant speaker.

Gypsye...my bike is an 09. If you hone the TP with a dremal, the Neo's drop right in. Anything with a larger magnet will definitely require a spacer.

Then I stand corrected. Thanks for that info.
