Default What 6x9 lid manufacturer?

Tons of choices for lids that fit a 6x9 for my Vivid black 2021 RGS. All within a hundred or so bucks price wise. Are any better the the next as far as mounting, waterproof, sound or overall quality is concerned? Going with the MMats 690. Please advise.

Would like to know as well. I did see that Rockford offers a kit to put a 6x9 in a std lid, gotta cut a hole but supposedly it's sealed off? Seems like a body shop job still

I went with Advanblack and they look good but if I had to do it over I would go with this.

Any reason? Seems like a good amount of work and expense for a diy.

Having used the RF kit on a few applications, I prefer it to the Advant black lids as the RF kit angles the speaker at the rider instead of just straight up. Much better hearing the rear at speed.

As much as I hate the 702 dude, that's a good price for a good kit.

It's an fairly easy task and $279 is cheap.

Like Gypsy said, cut in kits tilt the speaker towards the rider. After market lids are flat and the speaker drops into bag. Plus then you have to sorry about fitment and matching issues.

Any problems with the RF kit? Leaks? Grilles fit nicely? Hard to tell what the joint between the lid and speaker grilles looks like from online pictures.

And if you don't mind RF speakers, it's not that far ahead price wise of the 702 kit

The speakers are ok. But why go to the trouble for just ok. The Mmats and the 702 kit are close to the RF kit.

True. Do they offer that as a package or are people just purchasing separately? And I suppose if the 702 kit is well done, that's a route I'd take. Just makes you warm and fuzzy knowing the kit is from a big name, potentially more willing to work out some kinks if something doesn't fit properly
