Default Resistors

I have a 2020 FLHXS with the GTS radio and a DSR1 dsp. When I got the DSP, it had resistors wired inline for the input side. Are these necessary? I think I have one that has a bad connection or is going south as it will drop my right speaker at times and I'd rather be just done with them. I say this because if I move the wire around right were it's shrink wrapped in it will drop, and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot left to bite onto to make a new connection.

I dont have resistors on mine. Did you buy it used? They might have had them wires connected to tweeters. Either way, you would want the resistor connected to the tweeter. Closest to the speaker is preferred

Mine is connected RCA so the factory harness may be different. I dont know. If they came already on the harness for your headunit input to the dsp, I would leave them there. Solder it if you can and heat shrink it again

I did buy it used, the resitsors were already there. I am running coaxials. It looks like step 4 in this article:

I would keep it there then. Try to solder it or get new resistors and do as it shows in that link. Have you taken the heat shrink off yet? Might just be loose in the pin connector

No, I have not. I have all weekend to mess with it. But, if they aren't needed. removing them would be great since they are a bit bulky. That's why I was wondering if other people use them or not.

So you didnt have your harley radio flashed when you upgraded your audio? Instead they recommend using these resistors?

My radio is flashed, I have the Techno-research tool. According to that article, the resistors is not a fix for not having it flashed. When I got the DSP, the resistors were, so I let them be. I guess my question is, is everyone that runs a DSP or is using high level inputs into an amp using resistors? I can't see this being a need if using a LOC. But I do have some spare LOC's I could use if for some reason that would be better.

I've never used a RF dsp, so not sure...Also Im using RCA's and a loc for my setup. But the speaker level harnesses that came with my ARC I used to have and my current dayton I dont think have any resistors on them. But its been a while since I looked at them. They'er int he dayton box now.

I guess I can possibly see this being needed if going from head unit straight into amp. (maybe) But not sure the need if going head unit to DSP to amp.
