I installed a gently used Boom Audio Stage 2 amp and fairing speakers on my 2020 Road Glide Special. The wiring is all correct, the fuse for the amp (40) is good, but there’s no sound from the speakers.
The head unit is still operational and the fade has been checked and is proper.
The only thing I can think of is that the head unit has to be flashed. I see there’s a few possible resets for the audio for different amps, but a USB flash drive is required.
I called my dealership service dept. and asked if it needs a flash after installing Boom Stage 2 amp and speakers and they said possibly. Not reassuring. Does anyone know if the head unit needs a flash after installing a new amp and speakers to get any sound?

Yessir, the head unit needs flashed for the newly installed amp.

I got the stereo flashed at my dealership and it works great! Thanks to all.

 

On the touch screen make sure the headphones are not selected. Touch the speaker symbol and the sound will come back on.

I had this problem for days before I realized how to switch it back. Frustrating.
