The ones I bought were the 2x drivers with crossover, probably really over the top and they were 700 and 850 now, which I get, is a chunk of change. I bought em in 17, and they still going strong. Those plug ups I've not tried but I'm sure they are good stuff with some of the reviews I've read here. Sensaphonics and some others, can get really really expensive, but they are designed for the pro's like your bands that tour, etc.
I may even try a set of those plug ups for my girl friend. Be a cheaper investment and offer some protection. She rides with me, and just has the jbl speakers I put in her Neotec helmet. I tried that one day myself but honestly 80 miles an hour for 8 plus hours a day on a touring bike, even with a full face helmet, by the time you get where your going, you are spent after listening to wind noise.
