Ground Zero GZCF 6.5 SPL: HOW much power?
For those of you running the Ground Zero GZCF 6.5 SPL's, what kind of amp are you running to them? I have watched the videos from Carlos and he runs these from 800.4's bridged and on the flip side, I have read others are very happy with running 2 sets, i.e one in the lowers and one in the fairing from a single 800.4. On a different note (no pun intended), are there still issues with SD amps and Ground Zero speakers cutting out at above half volume? IIRC Carlos has "cut the wire" as it were to fix the issue on the crossover but that effectively takes a 12db crossover and turns that into a 6.
Maybe the set in the fairing on a 400.4 bridged and the set in the lowers on an 800.4 bridged so I can pump up the juice if they can't be heard over the fairing speakers? I have a line on 400.4 and 800.4 Evo X factory refurbs and would like to order before stock runs out.
Thanks and peace out

I'm just going on empirical data here, but if a bridged 800.4 can push a set of 6x9s that are BEHIND me loud enough for me to hear on the highway, I wonder if that kind of wattage might be overkill for a set of 6.5" speakers that are in front of me.

Quality control has been terrible lately. Mine were setting off the fault in my arc moto 720 auto at 150 Watts. Also the paper cones started to disintegrate. Yeah I've since replaced them with arc CX6's and have had no problems Use the search feature here and you'll read many others having problems with GZ's. Even one resident expert and GZ fan here has joined the club of non believers... Is mine were returned and I received full credit no questions asked... And that was from my dealer. I sent emails to GZ while I was having problems and did not get a response. Arc moto gave me the heads up on GZ tweeters sending faults to their amps

I've installed 1 good pair. Another set looks like shix and are shot after getting 300w and crossed at 85 with DSP. Had another pair that would put amp into protect mode at about 150 watts. Just got a bike and one of the GZ in lowers is completely destroyed and they are running off of 2 channels of a JL MX500/4. They are just like their amps: some good, some bad.
