92 FLHTC OEM Radio/Tape Power cutting in and out
On my fathers 1992 Electra Glide Classic (FLHTC) he still has the OEM Radio/Cassette deck and would like to keep it that way. However, the power to it keeps cutting on and off to it at random intervals. The player itself works fine and when the power restores the clock is back at 12:00, so its completely loosing power when it does cut out.
Hes changed the circuit breakers and it still does it. Is there any other components we can check or replace (and I dont mean the deck)?

Radio cutting out
Well to diagnose this fault correctly, you will have to pin point IF you are loosing power (12vfeed) to the Radio OR internally it is loosing power (HU).
If you have a lab scope you could tap into the 12v feed near the hu and road test it over bumps and see if you have good clean power while the radio cuts out? Or you could wire in a small light bulb on the 12v feed near the HU and tape it to the windshield, so you can see if it's still lit while the HU stops working.... What your trying to easily determine is if it's the Bike or the radio. Cheers Ultra
