I wonder if it will be marine grade or just water resistant ?

it is IPX5 rated for water resistance, not completely waterproof but pretty good (low-pressure water jet). When you say "marine grade" what are you looking for? Typically a term like that or "marine rated" not only refers to moisture but also protection against corrosion from salt water.

SWC Interface Required for Handlebar Control Retention / ability to retain factory thumb controls. (External SWC Required) Check Back for Updates, and Availability .

Leads me to believe this is not yet available ?

Can it survive in the rain like the factory unit? Until someone does that, it's not viable solution to most.

I’d say IPX5 is likely good enough for rain protection. IPX6 is like hitting the radio with a pressure washer and IPX7 and above are rated for total submersion.

A month or so.

The steering wheel control unit is about $80

wonder what the price of admission will be? I would be interested at $800 tops, possibly a few dollars more...
