the lack of high pass filter, is for now, a deal breaker for me, as I do not use a DSP with my simple 4 channel coax setup. Wonder how long this software update will take to be put out?
I have a feeling if this takes off, some of the bigger higher end companies like Alpine,Pioneer,Clarion will come with their own solutions. If and when these units have provisions to read and communicate with HD's databus system this will explode.

Doubt it. The market is not large enough for a multi billion dollar company.
Just think Alpine, and Pioneer don't make marine radios. (Market was not large enough)
Alpines Restyle radios would be the closest vehicle specific radios by tons more Jeeps, and GM trucks are manufactured vs HD's.
Lets say Alpine and Pioneer did enter the game. You would be talking a $1500-$2000 radio.

Why is this a deal-breaker? Do you run an amp that doesn't have an HPF? I think I'd be more concerned about the lack of independent volume levels for each source if blowing speakers is your concern. (Carlos calls it source level matching).
