I looked at these 3 bikes - Electra Glide Standard, Street Glide, and Road Glide.

Electra Glide Standard - $19k roughly $267 a month (no radio system or nav)
Street Glide - $22k (vivid black) roughly $308 a month (4.3 Boom audio radio system)
Road Glide - $21,700 - roughly $305 a month (4.3 Boom audio radio system)

Depending upon what kind of riding you plan on doing - daily trips to work/ long road trips, etc., the Road Glide handles the wind better at higher speeds, which means less fatigue at the end of the day.

If you get the EGS with no radio system and add an exhaust system, stage 1 air cleaner and stage 1 tuner, then you'll be into the bike for around $20,700 to $21k depending upon labor charges.

If the EGS is prewired for an audio system later on, then that leaves you with a head unit and fairing speakers to buy.

I would not suggest getting the Sony AVX7000 as it's not waterproof unlike the Harley head units. Buy the time you buy the Sony AVX7000 with the Harley interface cable and water cover and some speakers from fatheadcycles.com , you'll be into that around $1100 - $1300. (They are out of stock on all of their Sony HU and Sony HU speaker bundle kits right now)

For around $40 a month more, you can ride either the Street Glide or Road Glide with an audio system on it. Just ask the dealer how much extra a month it would add to your payment to install the exhaust system, stage 1 air cleaner and tuner.
I've crunched the same numbers and hashed the same thing in my mind. Since I'm most likely paying cash I think it makes a big difference saving $3 to $4k on a stock bike..

With going with the Electra Glide Standard and those savings I can add a stereo system and speakers for around $750ish if I go with the motorcycle shop near me that's installed, get Tab performance slip ons with Zombie baffles $599, black S&S aircleaner $399 along with the stage 1 at the dealership $100/$200, 12 inch handle bars about $1,000 for bars and installation at the dealership and a better seat $400ish. I feel like I would have a more complete bike for about the same or less then the stock Street Glide.

If you would do all of those installs yourself, which every last one of them easy to do, you'd save enough to buy the Street Glide and skip the radio install. Or at a minimum be close enough on price that it didn't bother you. Paying the dealer $1000 to install a set of handlebars is absurd. That's a job you can do yourself in an hour or two.

Plus the cost of the audio system itself.

I'm definitely most likely installing everything myself like the Mufflers, Air cleaner probably even the stereo system. The last handlebars I installed by myself was a pain in the ***. Maybe I'll do it again. Either way I'd save a ton going with the Electra Glide Standard if I go that route.

If I go the the Street Glide which is $22k bone stock and add those parts even if I do them myself I'm at $24kish. More then I want to spend this go around. If I got those same parts and installed them myself on the EGS I'd be at $21kish or less. Still saving $3k. IDK well see.
