6 speaker CVO plan

Not sure why the rep at AGB suggested the arrangement, but I now have too much invested in setting it up this way. I believe it had something to do with the CVO arrangement with an amp in each bag, but can't remember for sure.

Atomic Bagger, I know this is an old thread at this point. I am looking at following a similar upgrade path on my 2019 CVO Streetglide. How did this setup workout for you? Also did you ever figure out what the amp bypass plugs do? In other words did they leave your uppers and lowers on the same circuit / channel and if so are they in series or parallel? I emailed the manufacturer of the plugs and just got a really generic reply that really did not answer my question.

I would suggest trying to run all 6 off a 1200.4 4 ohm to see how it sounds before adding another amp. You can parallel the 6.5 fairing and lowers off channel 1/2 of the amp giving them app. 150w per speaker (300w per channel) and 200w to each 6x9 in the back. You may not even need the extra amp. I am currently running 6 6.5 off my 1200.4 with good sound and plenty of volume. Channel 1/2 to AD 5000's at 200w each and 3/4 to hertz sx165's parallel left on 3 and rt on 4. That keeps everything in stereo too. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you have the AD5000's? Serious speakers spec wise. If you do, do the play warm or are they on the brighter side? Did you have to modify pods?

the 4000's are pretty baller too, had some issues with the cone getting wet and warping temporarily, sounded fine when they dried out though....happened a few times
