Default Ground for Amp

Another Stupid Question of the Day!!!!!

My Boss amp kit had an 4' ground. Not enough to run to the battery of my 2014 Ultra.
where does one place an Amp ground within the fairing? Speaker pod/Amp tray screws? Use power wire or purchase a 6' line instead?
who gives 16' of red power wire and 4' of ground wire....JEEZ!!!

These kits are for car installation. Normally you run the the to battery take tank off to run OFC 8 ga power and ground to battery or ground to frame where the battery is grounded at.

You will need to remove the battery to get to that ground bolt
even run a 4 or 0 ga ground from battery to that factory ground bolt. Don't know what wattage your amp is though.

Look at the side of the neck for a opening. This will allow you run the wiring down the side of the backbone without removing the tank..

Ha! I went thru the same thing last year. Made no sense why they gave so much more positive than negative! I ordered a new ground wire off amazon. Firm believer in going directly to the battery.

It's cheap, that's why and it's for a car. I'm assuming it's not OCF wiring. I would return it and buy a kit for motorcycles, and one that is OFC.

No need to take the battery out on Rushmore's. Just access thru the brake side side cover. Saves a ton of time.

Or just ground directly to the battery.

OP, you sure they didn't send you a used kit? Boss kits I see come with 8' power and ground cables.

Not sure if it's OFC or not...doesn't say either way.
Edit: nope sorry....misread it. 3ft of ground......stupid!

The designated grounding point on the frame that is just 4 inches in front of the battery OR the battery post. That's the answer.
Grounding anywhere else is asking for trouble.

Reading about the ground point on the frame got me to thinking. Is there much advantage to beefing up the ground wire going from the battery to the frame on pre-Rushmore bikes if we already have everything going straight to the battery?
