Ground for Amp
#74
yeah didn’t this very same guy try to say these very same things a few months ago ? to no avail ? lol. doesn’t have much to say about anything else but he’s passionate about the grounding issue i see. lol. i tried to run ground to the neck of my bike and had tons of noise. moved it to the battery and it’ stopped. that’s all i needed to see to make my choice ijs

Final results and an ending thought
My upgrade is complete and needless to say, a huge success. The Stinger 700 amp works perfectly, MMats are loud and clear, wiring is manageable and nothing really had to be cut, spliced, or bastardized.
Grounding the Amp was done per instructions of a convenient spot on the frame or to the Negative battery side(my choice). The terminals are now at capacity due to numerous lights, trailer wiring, and heated clothing connections. Future considerations will include some sort of a panel for wire management.
Thanks to LEFTY33, I recieved a BT Breakout Harness which included ft/rr line levelers and speaker wires for an Amp. No cutting required and minimal splicing.
All in all, hell of an Audio upgrade for approximately $700. TP 6.5 speakers are the next upgrade.
Thanks to all those that provide much needed positive feedback. Pics coming soon.

Yes, that's where I ground mine. I know how it works and I know this will work fine for me. I think if I was building some of the setups you guys use I'd beef up the ground strap AND put a distribution block somewhere on the frame (likely where the ground strap meets the frame but that would depend on space). I'd NEVER ground to the battery directly...but that's me. You do you.
