"That a boy" we can all get some cake and ice cream after the game. Wait a minute ice cream is after the scheduled (participation) trophy ceremony..

Since we are all self proclaimed electrical engineers and also bike builders let's try the cave man approach. When you purchase a motorcycle specific amp wiring kit, why in the world would those clowns (actual electrical engineers in the sled industry) provide ground wiring that is the same size and same length as the power wiring? Is it a free bonus 5 feet of wire that we can use at a later date?
OP, do your own research outside this forum regarding sled audio amp grounding as it's a topic that always run directly into the deep weeds. And if you are really bored go back and search all the amp/audio troubleshooting interweb posts that end up being sourced directly to substandard grounding practices.

We can all agree that Harley has one hell of an R&D department. Look at the pic, Even Mother Harley tells you to ground amp at the battery!

Now that you bring that up Juice, I have done a few projects over the past couple of years where the manufacturer specifically states that the main power AND ground wires should be run directly to the battery. One was a set of heated grips from Harley and the other was a fan assisted oil cooler from UltraCool (PC racing).
I didn't call them up and argue with them about it, I just ran the wires and enjoyed their products.

Do I have to pull the car over!!!
Gentlemen, used very loosely, need to relax, please. I have wired cars, boats, and some bikes, but not Harleys.
My Goldwing 1500 had more lights and LEDs than I ever want again. That one I could ground to a spot in the fairing which was grounded on the frame.
Different bikes, different experiences.
