The term "subs" gets thrown around so loosely in bike audio nowadays. Outside of audio comp bikes NOBODY runs subs in their bags. It's a mid bass speaker...not a sub. And both require a lot of bag work to be done correctly. Subs even more so.

The only thing about changing out your HU is you typically lose out on some handlebar control functionality. Iron Cross can, for a reasonable price, overhaul your stock HK HU (there are specific parts known to fail that could be replaced proactively), provide you a Bluetooth receiver, and RCA pre-amp outputs. Something to think about.
