Like everyone I would love some ground shaking bass but I'm a realist. Just looking to fill out the sound under 40mph.
The best thing I can say about feeding a good set of 6x9s properly is that your system will sound warmer at speed. You won't notice "thump" but in testing if I switch my 6x9s off and get up to speed the sound is much shallower, lacking some warmth.

And to add to what hoyt said, you can get decent bass out of 6x9's while sitting or slow moving. But most bass from the rear stage is lost once you get up to 50 or more mph regardless of speaker.
But you're not going to get ground shaking bass from any 6x9 lol. Maybe bag shaking at most. Ground shaking requires other size speakers and way more watts.
