Default Amp crossover question

Hi hoping an audio guy can help?I am running Hertz mille pro coaxial 6.5 speakers in fairing.Question for crossover on amp.I have LPF,Full and HPF then Frequency adjustment.I assume since i am just using 2,6.5 speakers i can set amp crossover to full and then i do not have to adjust frequency?Thanks in advance

i think most will say set to high pass and about 90-100hz

I thought with out subs you would want all frequency going to you speakers?

Can you're 6.5's play all frequencies?? Absolutely no they can't. That's why you set your amp to HPF and set the freq's. I'd start at 80 and move up if need be. Setting the amp on HPF and setting your crossover frequency cuts out any signal lower than where you have it set. Example...with it set at 80 it cuts out all the lower freq's that your speaker cannot play below 80hz.

Thanks for the reply.If my speakers freq range 45-21500Hz Would i start at 45hz? instread of 80?

Don't just set it at 80. Start there and see if you need to move it up.

U could start at 45 in a car or truck. But in the sled environment u have to get far more aggressive with watts thus the higher HP freq. The high watts will crater a 6.5 when u open up the filter to play the low freqs.
Give it a shot but be conservative. U will hear them take a knee (distort) pretty early in the game as the volume increases.
