Amp power vs speaker capacity

Amp power vs speaker capacity
Let me preface this with the fact that I know next to nothing about stereos.
I'm looking to upgrade my saddlebag speakers to an 8" speaker with a separate tweeter. My questions is, the 8" is rated at 200w RMS but the tweeter is only rated at 50w RMS. My current AMP is rated at 180w RMS. These speakers are being sold as a "kit" so I don't understand how two speakers so widely different in power handling capability can be paired together.Wont the tweeter get blown out by the 180W amp?

That's pretty much the same with any coax or component setup. The crossovers and capacitors provide protections / filtering for the speakers in play. In a coax it's built into the speaker assembly. On a component there are typically external passive crossovers and caps.
If it's coming to u as a packaged component setup I'm damn certain this concern has been addressed in the development process. Unless it's some yahoo claiming to be another one of these "awesome" sled audio shops.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is not the right amp in my opinion for that setup. The BT4180 is a good quality product, but it lacks a few things such as crossovers and gain adjustments. I think the only way to get this to work is using a DSP.
Is this all that your system comprises of?
