Default Amp power vs speaker capacity

Let me preface this with the fact that I know next to nothing about stereos.

I'm looking to upgrade my saddlebag speakers to an 8" speaker with a separate tweeter. My questions is, the 8" is rated at 200w RMS but the tweeter is only rated at 50w RMS. My current AMP is rated at 180w RMS. These speakers are being sold as a "kit" so I don't understand how two speakers so widely different in power handling capability can be paired together.Wont the tweeter get blown out by the 180W amp?

That's pretty much the same with any coax or component setup. The crossovers and capacitors provide protections / filtering for the speakers in play. In a coax it's built into the speaker assembly. On a component there are typically external passive crossovers and caps.

If it's coming to u as a packaged component setup I'm damn certain this concern has been addressed in the development process. Unless it's some yahoo claiming to be another one of these "awesome" sled audio shops.

In the majority of cases where you have a mid and a horn in the lids as you describe, they're fed power individually so that you have control over the amount of power each component is getting and are normally tuned with a DSP.

Probably won’t be an issue if your running the recommend wattages of 16-32 watts per speaker. 😂😂

Is this all that your system comprises of?

I was planning on getting the Sony XAV-AX5000

I was also planning on adding WDX 8 Moto in the fairing. Could I use the WDX 8" in the bags and the fairing and just skip the components speakers in the bag?

BTW, I have no idea what a DSP is.

@nathanw You have the right guy helping you. Tell him your goals and budget, and listen to his recommendations. It would've saved me a ton of $ if I had known him sooner. Followed his advice and I couldn't be happier with my setup now.
