Flash after amp and speaker install question?

Flash after amp and speaker install question?
Hey guys,
I just finished installing a Biketronics BT2180 amp, a set of BT7P1 speakers and a BT355 line leveler on the fairing of my 2017 Street Glide Special and according to Biketronics, I also need to flash my radio, of which they also send me a little unit called the BTRX2 to flash the radio.
My question to you guys is, do I really need to flash my radio only if I am what I mentioned above, even if I don't have any rear speakers on my bike??
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind flashing my radio like Biketronics instructed me to do so, however, I've read on line that you only need to flash your radio only if your bike is set up with front and rear speakers when adding an amp.
Do I really need to flash my radio or not based on what I am installing???
In the event that I do need to flash the radio, do I need to do it BEFORE I install everything or AFTER???
Thanks in advance for your replies!!

I'd follow BT's instructions. When and what to flash your head unit to depend on a few factors but I'm sure BT asked you what equipment you had and what software your head unit was running. Based on that info they would have recommended a specific flash and sent you the flash unit and a key based on your HU s/n.
It doesn't really matter if you do it before or after installing the new amp and speakers. Just don't fire everything up and crank it until you have.
Really, if you have any questions at all just call BT. That's why they charge what they do. They will walk you through everything you need to do and support you as long as you own the system.

Hamah,
There is a snow storm where Biketronics is located, and they are out of reach right now, that's why I posted my concern here to se if I could get the install done before the weekend is over which is when I have time to work on my bike.
They told me to retrieve serial number off the radio with their little handheld unit they sent me, and one of the steps is to turn the radio on in order to get the serial number of it, but by turning the radio on, prior to flashing it, you are applying power to all of the components since they are all connected already, and wouldn't that cause problems to it??
See my logic dictates that if by turning the radio on won't cause any damage to the amp, line leveler or speakers prior to the flash, then what is the point of the flash??
Sorry, I am not trying to be contradicting, I'm just trying to understand the logic of it.
Thanks.

The point of the flash is to flatten the EQ curve, regardless of whether you're using the rear channels or not. It's not gonna hurt a thing to power it up to retrieve the serial numbers and it won't hurt it to play it without the flash, but with the flash you'll get better results from your install.

I recently installed a Biketronics system I my 2015 Ultra Limited. Mike had my take a picture of the running flash for my bike, in may case 00_OFF.bin, which was the optimal flash for my bike. I would send Mike the flash your currently running and get his opinion. BTW, I love by Biketronics setup.
