Default Whats a good amp for PRV 8MB700FT-NDY-4 ?

What would be a good amp to push a pair of these PRV 8MB700FT-NDY-4, they will be inside my bags ? Amp will also be inside the bags so I can play around with the size a little. As far as a budget maybe around the $500 range .

1600.1 would be a good fit.

The SD1200.1 (2ohm) would give you all you need.

All of the mentioned above will work great . Be careful if you get a 1200.1 or a 1600.1 .The speakers are only rated at 350 rms those amps will blow (2) 8s easily . If space is an issue ,the evoX 800.4 is plenty powerful enough and small.

Speakers are rated at 700w program power and they take that and some more. PRVs want and can take the program power. That’s why the above amps were suggested. Will the 800 work sure but leaving alot on the table as far as the speakers go.

Have you tried those speakers on a 800?
I haven’t ran those but I have ran other prv at 3 times rated rms with a good tune without problems.

Yes I’ve tried those speakers on damn near everything , including a evox 800 , a evox 2400 ,1200.1 and a RF 400.4 I’ve installed about 8 pair of those speakers and they cannot take 700 watts rms per speaker . That 700 watt rating is peak power and they want last long with that power. If he cranks it while parking lot pimping and gets carried away one night they’ll be up in smoke .Those amps will easily blow the two 8s if he isn’t careful . I have neo prv 10s in my bike and several of my buddies run the neo 8s. I’m not just running my mouth I’ve actually tried what he is about to do. Sure if he is careful with the gains and he has a good tune it will run fine . And yes my bike and all the others where running a dsp . I don’t know what makes you guys think that little 8”speaker with a 2.5” voice coil can take that type of real world power for any extended amount of time.

Let’s be real here how many people have their bike cranked at maxed output for an extended period of time that have decent equipment and have it tuned not many. It’s all about volume control just because the gains were set at clean max volume doesn’t mean one has to play it there. I rarely do and most others as well. I’ve heard and seen a guy with 3 sets of these on his bike with 750 going to each of them and he is looking to put more to them. His bike won 2 or 3 comps this year with that set up. So for the average user with a good tune program power isn’t an issue as it will rarely be at that point. If you have installed 8 sets what did you end up sending to them power wise? How do you know they won’t take program power?

I’ve blown these speakers trying to get to much out of them .I agreed with you guys saying that the 1600.1 and a 1200.1 would work. I ran those speakers on all those amps and from my experiences the sd 600.1 and the evoX 800.1 did very well on two speakers and saved space . I’m just sharing my experiences to try to help him make the best decision.
