Signal Impedance Level

Signal Impedance Level
I have the Sony XAV-7000 HU and MMATs 701 Speakers and would like to hook them up in parallel.
It says in the Sony manual to change the OHMs setting in Advance to 2 Ohm instead of 4 Ohm. The problem is that option is not highlighted so I can change it.
Once I hook the speakers up that way will it just recognize it? Or can I still hook them up and not damage anything?
So what I want to do is the following:
Front Left will go to positive on both Front Speakers
Front Right will go to negative on both Front Speakers
Rear Right will go to my Subwoofer
Rear Left will go to my Subwoofer
Thanks,

What you're describing is parallel bridging to the amp and if your speakers are 4ohm, you cannot parallel them and bridge them to that amp. That amp is not 2ohm stable in bridged mode.

If you have an amp in play then the HU doesn't dictate what ohms you can use. That's now the amps job.

I noticed on the manual that if I wanted louder sound I could run speakers parallel. I guess not.
Do you happen to have any suggestions?
