Wet speakers

Which speakers? In most cases, its the HU that got wet and a day or 2 it will dry out and work again.

If that is the case then they just may be gone. I would still wait t few days to see if they dry out. That leads to me to believe that you have an amp in play as water can get to just about anything if possible. You just may need to let it dry or the amp/HU may be fried.

i wash mine just like you described, so unless you did something to force excess water where it shouldn't be going, then I wouldn't say you 'goofed'
your system was made with a degree of weather resistance in mind....sounds like it did pretty good.....17 years
only way to know for sure what happened is to start testing the equipment systematically....might be time to get professional help, if you don't know how to see what is wrong
