Ok, so basically, the speakers that come with either kit aren’t the best. So let’s assume I’d replace those Eventually, and let me ask you this. Would you rather get new lids and have them painted, or cut your stock lids?

 

what color is your bike? Black and some of the other color lids are reasonably priced.

 

 

Up to you really. Price it both ways and see how you feel. Some people don't mind cutting stock lids, others don't like it and would rather buy new lids and go that way. I cut mine simply because the price on my color for lids all in counting speakers and such was going to be around 700. That was advan black laguna orange 6x9 lids plus speakers.

Also keep in mind, there are 8" lids....

 

Thanks for all the info. I’ve decided to hold off on it for a while. The two speakers up front are good enough. I’ll put the money into something more useful. Gas, tolls and road sodas.
