Default Advice on a Good Sound Setup for Road King Special

Guys, I've been reading the forum for a good sound setup for a Road King Special.

I know that Rockford Fosgate has a 2014+ Road KingŪ 2-Speaker & Amp Kit HD14RK-STAGE2 which includes speaker lid speakers and TM400X4ad. The amp seems to have good reviews on the forums.

Does anyone have this installed with just the saddlebag speakers? If so, how does it sound? Would I need to install lower fairing speakers as well to be able to have decent sound at highway speeds? And if so, what brand lower fairing speakers would you go with? Should I stick with Rockford Fosgate or get something else? I'm considering Sounds, Kicker, Hogtunz, etc.

I'm a newbie at this so any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What are you trying to get out of the system? What color is your bike? Advanblack sells cplor matched lids and lowers. A good loud sytem that is solid would be a SD800.4 4 ohm EVO amp, Mmats 2 PA601.4cx (lowers) and 2 PA690.4cx(bags).

It's black. Yes, I was looking at avanblack lids and lowers. Just not sure what amp and speakers to use for the best setup. The Rockford fosgate seems like an easy install, but it only comes with speakers for the lids. Not sure what speakers to put in the lowers or even if I need them. I want decent sound when riding, both highway and backroads

Skip the RF as it is just so-so. The SD amp is solid and the Mmats are very well likes around here. Rge system I mentioned wil blow away the RF kit.

Can't find the amp you recommended. Was it replaced by something else?

Thanks. Would also need a bluetooth module and a way to control from the handle bars. Any recommendations?

So the receiver already has bluetooth build in? If not, then I need a bluetooth module to connect my phone to and plug into the receiver. No other way I can think of to make it work.

You can get a JL Bluetooth adapter and run a system as Fireball recommended. My first version in my Road King Special was similar. But I also added an EQ so I would have some tuning capability. That lasted all of 2 months. I got bit and went bigger. Lol

If it were me, I'd follow Fireball's suggestion, but throw a DSP in the mix. It will be a vital part of your system as you upgrade. I have the DD DSI-2 and I stream from my phone to it via BT, out to my 3 amps. Works flawlessly in my RKS. Easier to tune than a Rockford DSR-1. I have that in my Ram Rebel and really don't like that DSP.
