Been running my budget system for a couple years, stock head unit with a CV B52 and a pair of Kappas. I hear everyone raving about the Mmats that I am contemplating an upgrade. Will the B52 power the Mmats enough that I notice a difference? Don’t really want to change the amp but I will if needed. Thanks in advance.

 

That amp should work fine.

Not sure you will see a huge differnce. maybe a little louder. Maybe
Your old head unit is holding you back.
If I were you I would upgrade head unit before speakers.
But thats just my opinion.

 

mmats 601cx are 10 times better sounding and louder than the kappas. I ran the kappas with a sound stream amp for not quite a year. Blew one of the speakers, replaced under warranty, but never installed them. Instead swapped out the amp for a stinger and the kappas for the mmats.

 

The Mmats are a great upgrade from the Kappa's. Way more volume than the Kappa's. I used to run my Mmats off the Stinger at 125 watts per channel. Your CV B52 should easily run the Mmats.
It will be a very noticeable improvement.
