Default Hot Garbage No More - I hope

For those of you that have been following my system changes and learning process over the last few months, the title is a reference to @haze324’s description of my last setup.

As I’ve learned and experimented I’ve arrived at the latest setup. Used a multimeter and ohms law calculator with a 1Khz 0db test tone to set gains, and a DD1 to make sure I was not distorting at the head unit or out of the amps.

Sony 7000 Head Unit

DSR1 (Bought a DSI2 and set everything up with that the first go round, but sadly I couldn’t fit the outer fairing back on with it.)

SD1200.4-2 EvoX bridged to two sets of Ground Zero Yellow Baskets in the Saddlebags (2 in each bag). 300W each. Crossovers at Band Pass: 65hz - 300hz: 12dB slope

SD1200.4-2 EvoX bridged to four Hertz SV 165s in upper and lower fairing. 300W each (but dialed back a little on the DSR1). Crossovers at Band Pass: 100hz - 6K: 12dB slope

SD400.4 EvoX running one set of Diamond Audio MO75T horns mounted in my grills. 50W each. Crossovers at Band Pass: 6K - 10K: 12dB slope

All amps and DSR1 mounted in the fairing using a XEL rack by Lex Rivera

As always, open to feedback, but I’m pretty excited to run this setup.

You are leaving tons on the table. I don’t know how loud I can say it. It’s not about the equipment or brand names, and everyone gets so stuck on that........it’s about the install.

Your boy at Blaze said he will tune it for me. Now that I have everything installed I’ll get him scheduled. Or, happy to ride down to Miami if you are willing to put your magic to it.

I thought that you’d be a little proud of me for a combination of components that has better potential and plays nicely together... no?

What other tips do you have for maximizing the setup?

I'm retiring from working on bikes man....I just listed my personal bike for sale as well this weekend.

Time to move on to another hobby.

Dorian's a good dude.

I’m sorry to hear that! Hopefully whatever is pushing you away from motorcycles and motorcycle audio is short term OR your new hobby gives the same “wind therapy”.

Dorian has a great reputation and I’m sure that he will get all there is to have out of my setup as soon as I can get in for him to tune it. In the meantime, I’m open to any tips/suggestions you have for how to get as much as possible from the system. Having tuned a ton of bikes I’m sure that you have ideas on crossover, eq or even gain settings that I can play with until Dorian has an opening.

Surprised being in Miami your focus hasn't been marine audio.
