Default Audio Questions Sony 7000

Hey All,

Needs some help. I replaced my stock 6.5 head unit with a Sony 7000 head unit and replaced stock speakers in the fairing with MM652 Polks. I expected to get more sound out of this setup. Instead I am getting less sound. A lot less sound. I am going to add mmats to the fairing and move the Polks to the back and add a stinger amp but that is a month down the road.

How do I get more sound out of this setup for the next month?

Next and more important to me I don't know how to get volume speed control on the Sony 7000. So I did a ride yesterday and had to turn it up to 43 to get almost decent sound at 80mph and when I stopped the speakers blasted everyone around me. I did not realize how much I liked and need the volume speed control until yesterday.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

If you can hear your system at 80mph and blast everyone out at a stoplight i'd say you're not lacking volume for not having an amp. mmats and a stinger and you'll love it! speed controlled volume isn't an option with aftermarket headunits

I'm not sure if Biketronics sells a hand control interface ONLY for the Rushmore bikes with aftermarket decks (not that there are a ton of options for us); but on their interfaces, they previously had the capability to program AVC: though you shouldn't use the automatic volume control with an amplifier. But it might not hurt to give BT a call to inquire about it. If nothing else, they'll be able to give you better info than my sketchy recollection!

You're not going to be impressed or hear at at 80mph with an amp. No speaker or radio combo will you give that without an amp

If you have the handlebar control interface that most are selling with this - the right hand round button (not sure what it did on the 6.5GT will attenuate the volume. I usually just hit that if I'm rolling up to a light. Not perfect but better than raising/lowering volume all the time.

And turning that up to 43 without knowing where it distorts is gonna make the magic smoke come out of those speakers.

You can actually assign what the buttons do.

Same as rlager said, press in on one of the hand control toggles to attenuate the sound when you’re coming to a stop.
