Not all watts are Equal. The stinger is a much cleaner and warmer sound ( to my ears). The SS gets loud but the Highs can get out of control.

Gotcha. Yea I'm gonna try that one. You were right about the hp switch. Except on mine it only works on full pass or low pass. Hp just doesn't play sound

same here, that switch seems to be an issue, i have had to flip it back and forth a couple of times to make sure it is seated in its correct position, after that i have had no more issues til i mess with it again.
