I did some listening with gains set just below distortion (with DD1) and gains set at rated max (with multimeter).

It was definitely a lot louder. It did get a little distorted at max volume. So sound quality wasn't as good when using max. My biggest concern is running a distorted signal all the time (even if I can't hear it) and burning out voice coils or something else on my speakers.

ya that's what I was getting at, i see a lot of talk about amp cost and big watts but rarely does anyone mention quality, my thinking is the amp is the engine running everything, if its not good no speaker is going to live up to its potential.

Just talked to the contact at Massive.
The information I had sent him has been forwarded to the engineering department for further review.
I was told that I should receive information later today or tomorrow.

Let the under rated amp saga continue

So for my education if your gains are set below distortion per the multi-meter how would you still be sending a distorted signal to the speakers?

I am able to set the gains below distortion only by using my DD1 (which gets me at about 145 watts)
I set the gains just with the multi-meter to get 200 watts

Ok so you set the gains on the amp with a MM then further set them using your DD1. I've got a lot to learn on these DSP's, just added a Dayton to my setup.

Massive Audio? I thought I seen it listed next to Boss Audio, and Audio vox. Same packaging, bigger price tag! Don't forget the MMATS!
