Another audio thread (DSR1, Hertz, Fosgate, etc)

The new rockford wiring haness kit plugs into the factory harness and eliminates the need to run nee speaker wire in the front. The bag harness plugs directly into the amp. The "T" harness allows one connection to the dsr1 and the in and outs are part of it. I will look into it some more, but my initial thought is the if you want to add another amp and more speakers, you are most likely going to have to not use the t harness, and find out if you can use the t harness as the input to the dsr1, but use the rca cables to output to the amps, this will require running your own speaker wires to the speakers instead of the stock hd wiring.

i'll post up again in the am when i can double check.

If this still is causing issues, please take some pics and post up as the newer sleds may have a few fancy features but the fundamentals are the same thus I'm certain ur brothers on this forum can help sort it all out.
Good luck!!

Since you already have good tweeters in the fairing and a good DSP to tune with a lot of us in that scenario run PA speakers in the lowers. In my opinion I got warmer sound in the front stage when I swapped out my coax in the lowers for PA speakers. You can crank them pretty good without those tweeters drilling into your brain so to speak.
As far as what brand and type others can advise. So far the basic Mmats PA 601.4s marine treated have served me well. For folks with more money I have heard good things about Hertz and PRV in that location. If you need grills down there a lot of us have had good luck with the Chinese knock off CVO grills on eBay. They are about $20 a set.
As far as the rear pods go I have really enjoyed my Analog Designs CX621s. They are waterproof and get loud without sounding too harsh. You just need to cross them a little higher than a lot of 6.5s. That's not really an issue though because with most rear pods you aren't going to be generating many low frequencies anyhow. Also the ADs fit in that spot without heavy modification and come with good quality grills in the box.
When it comes to hooking up the amps and such one thing I did when I went with two amps is to have all four front speakers on one amp on the front of the fader control and all four rear speakers on another amp on the rear fader control. You will most likely find that when you get going good you will need to tone down the front stage a bit to be able to hear the rear. If you have a passenger you can set the fader more towards the middle to keep from blowing them away.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

I think the PRV 6MR500 is really good in the lowers there just aren't many louder 6.5s. Whatever speaker you pick make sure it mates with the power you will have available. I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with the RF amp, but you gonna want to get your power strategy correct if you really want to run 8 speakers.
