Default 8's or 10's in bags?

In the process of installing speakers in my 09 Road King and was thinking about adding speakers inside the bags. I have 2 Mmatts 601cx to put in a aftermarket fairing and 2 690.4cx to put in the lids, powered by a Stinger 700x4. I have a Kenwood KMR-D372BT for my HU but not apposed to changing it if it's not a good option. Also have a Dayton DSP that can be used.

What 8's or 10's and amp combo would work well with the setup I have?

Will the lids be seperated from the 8's or 10's?

10's will fight with the 6x9's in the same air space.

Hadn't taken that into consideration. Would the 6x9's need to be separated? Assuming that they would fight for air space with the speakers in the bags.

Would 8's not fight for air space with the 6x9's?

Im not real sure how the 8's and 6x9's would play together, all I know is when I put 10:s in my bags I ended up pulling the 6x9:s and putting sealed back 6.5 in, I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable guys can help you out.

An 8 and 6x9 are roughly same cone area and far enough apart that you can make it work with some creative tuning.

Would putting the 8 in the back of the bag help by keeping it further away from the 6com

Not sure how creative I can be with the tuning.

I don't know shix about tuning but I ran 8s in the back of the bags and also in the lids and they only got a lil nasty w each other under really high demand. I'm gonna guess that if u tune to different freq demands then u will mitigate some risk of the brawl over airspace. 6x9s a bit higher and the 8s seeking the lows & Bass freqs.
I really wanted to capture lows from both locations so I just provided separation inside the bags. Whatever strategy u choose I do think it's damn prudent to plan for some separation in air demands either via the tune or physical separation ie baffles on 6x9s or 10s and closed back 6.5s in the 6x9 hole thru the use of a $6 adapter.

Good luck!!!

I had pretty decent success with 6x9's and 8's. Had the 8's in the rear of the bags and ran the 8's180 degrees out of phase with the 6x9s. Proper amp power and dsp tuning can make it sound good and still have some useable bag space.
