Default 2 channel amp for Mmats PA601.cx

Going to put 2 Mmats PA601.cx in a after market fairing for my Road King. What are some good choices in 2 channel amps to power these speakers. Not going to use a DSP and not going to add to the system down the road.

Was thinking about that Stinger but wasn't sure if it performed as well as the 700.

It doesn't. It's essentially half of the 700 with only two channels. Imho, I'd go with the 700 and bridge it to give you plenty of extra headroom.

The 350 is 125x2 at 4 ohms. Which is right in the wheelhouse of the MMats. No reason to buy a 700 and bridge it and turn it down. Regardless, you're going to end up at 125 watts or so anyways. Bridging the 700 and not properly setting gains could lead to overpowering the Mmats and burning voice coils.

The 350 and 700 are actually putting out approx 101w/ch real world as evidenced by their own included reports with the amps. And, a number of folks have reported pushing the 601cx with 125 to 140w with a SD800 with no reliability issues. So, instead of pushing the 350 to the limit, which can't reach this sweet spot anyway ~125w, for an extra $43 not only can he dial in the bridged gains conservatively with the 700, he also has that added headroom if he ever wants to upgrade the speakers only. Why are you assuming the OP can't properly trim the gains??

The difference between 100 watts and 125 watts is less than 1 dB for this speaker

The difference between 125 and 350 watts is about $180.00 for a new set of speakers.

Again, why are you automatically assuming this guy can't properly trim the gains? If the 700 was twice the cost, that'd be a different thing, but for $40 more, I said that I would rather run the 700 easy, than the 350 ***** to the wall where it's going to start to distort anyway. Imho, 100+w/ch out of the 350 is going to be more detrimental to the speakers than 125w/ch out of the 700. That and getting back to the original point that the $40 gets you added flexibility for future speaker upgrades. David has already alluded to new stuff coming, so why not? Suggesting nobody is capable of trimming the gains on an amp is a bit out there. Ultimately the OP should do what he thinks is best for his situation.
