Default Bridging

Question for the group. I have a RF TM400X4ad. I am currently running it and want to continue running with 2 fairing speakers only. I would like to utilize all of the amp power to those front speakers via bridge. What are the best 6.5 speakers that would handle the 200 amp feed each and still fit in Road Glide speaker pods? Or maybe a slight pod modification if absolutely needed.

I'm trying to hear at 80mph with helmet and ear plugs and the 6.5 fossgate speakers are just barley getting it done. The stock hu has been flashed and as per RF I am not running a line leveler.

Thinking maybe the millie pro 165.3???

The DB WDX6Moto Gen 2's might fit the bill for you

I personally would run the mmats 601cx off just the front channels of that tm400. Those speakers get real loud and are clear with 100-125w to them. The mille pros will make your ears bleed with the highs if you feed them a lot of power. Same with the moto gen II's.

What he said - I put the MMats 601's into my RGS and they sound great once I got them dialed in. The magnets are quite large, so I did have to cut a spot in the pod. I just covered them. with Dynamat (don't need very much).

Running an NVX VADM4 amp, bridged for the front speakers.

Can't answer how it sounds with a helmet AND plugs, but I hear them just fine at speed with some custom earplugs.

Thanks everyone. I am starting to realize how powerful my amp is. Listening to my system in the garage on 2 channels it seems like the loudest thing I've ever heard. Than at 70 on the slab with a helmet and ear plugs it is a different story. Think I will keep working on reducing wind noise and maybe change speakers out in spring.

Ive got the same amp, I am running a set of DB drive euphoria epc6k components bridged and its too much. I’m switching to the mmats 601.cx this off season and only utilizing the front two channels due to recommendations here. Also going to add lowers to utilize the rear channels, I just haven’t picked out what I want for lower speakers yet.

What do you mean by "too much"?

Ear fatigue, sounds as if it’s screaming. I’m sure I can tame it with a DSP, but I’ve got other plans.

I'm glad there are folks out there not just explaining how to put systems together but also trying to narrow down how a fairing only system might work particularly on a Road Glide. Some riders want nothing to do with lowers or speakers in their bags. Some of us new guys, like me for instance, have no idea how much a 70mph slab run erodes your volume. Even the fosgate 6.5 speaker gets so loud with my bike shut down, that I can hear it 50 yards away and then it sounds like a stuffed animal speaker at 70. Crazy physics of sound waves I guess.
