Default 8ohm speaker wiring.

Ok still confused on this subject. If I have 2 8ohm speakers wired in parallel bridged to my amp
Amp puts out 500w at 4ohm. How many watts are each 8 seeing?

Depends on the amp specs. Is it 500w @4ohm overall? 2 channel, 4 channel? Are you bridged/paralleled?

Come on Frenchie, give us something to work with!!! Lol

To my understanding and calculations a 4 ohm load (2 8ohm speakers parallel) at 500 watts is 44.7 volts output. Giving each speaker 250 watts.

Now since the speakers are 8ohm the speakers will use half of the 250 watts that the amp is putting out reducing the output again by half giving them 125 watts each.

Is my thinking and calculations correct?? If they are incorrect please correct me and explain how you come up with your figures.

I'm just trying to clear up a very muddy situation that confuses the **** out of alot of people.

Edit/add

500w @ 4 ohm load = 500 watts output to speaker
500w to 1- 8 ohm load. = 250 watt output to speaker
500w to 2-8 ohm loads =125 each

If you wire in parallel you end up giving the amp a 4ohm load which means the amp produces 500watts. Those 500 then get split between what is on that wire ( 2 8ohm speakers) giving each 250

Here is the formula used for parallel wiring.

RT is the total that the amp will see.
R1 and R2 are the speaker resistance. There could be R1, R2, R3, R4 depending on the system.
