Companies like JM love guys like you are this is the exact reason they push the “plug and play” and “designed specifically for your bike” or “no cutting your stock harness”. It’s all bullshit meant to scare you out of building your own system with quality equipment that will destroy their junk for much less money. A properly installed system will never need to have any stock wires cut.
As as long as you are here to learn, and it appears you are after taking the advice to cancel the order, you will be fine.

-i love the aquatic H/U’s I like the looks and it seems like a decent unit. I personally know a few people who have had good luck with them as well. They blend in nice with the inner fairing.
-400 bucks for amp (don’t mind if it’s 4 or 2 channel) speakers (fairing only) and misc. this isn’t set in stone as I can go up or down.
-I’m looking for something somewhat loud enough and clear enough I can enjoy it on the highway. I don’t need to most incredible thing as I’m trying to be realistic with my price range. Should I be looking in the 75-100 watts rms range for that?

I have both the bass and treble turned down. I wear a shoei full face so it’s pretty quiet with that on. I don’t need it for my music, you can see yourself out now.
